Valentine's Madness

Our grocery store has gone insane with Valentine's Day decorations and gifts. They have devoted more space to this holiday than they did for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas, all put together.

About a third of the store is now taken up with these displays of balloons and flowers, walls of candy, mountains of stuffed animals. Maybe everyone in Tallahassee won't be getting glasses or window treatments for Valentine's Day after all.

What did the store look like the day after Valentine's Day? Where does everything go? Into a backroom till next year?

The leftover Valentine's Day items were on clearance the next day. Why doesn't everyone just celebrate holidays the day after? But lots of people bought them before then -- I saw heart-shaped balloons being carried all over town!
