The first thing I've missed about Bloomington is my friends and family. The second thing is the restaurants. Fortunately, the two often go together. With my friends Emilie and Derek, for instance, I had this fabulous Burmese meal that included an avocado shake, ginger and red bean fritters, and a salad with pickled tea leaves.

Here is Temporary Librarian enjoying some pad thai ...

... and Dr. Hausfrau with a Thai iced tea.

The Indian tea at Cafe Django is my absolute favorite.

One evening Mimi and Nola brought a delicious carry-out dinner that included seitan schnitzel (I swear, it's delicious) ...

... and another time, most of the family went out for sushi at the Mikado. You can't get food like this in Tallahassee. And most of the time, you can't see these people there either. And that's why I love Bloomington.
