Attack of the Ducks

On Sunday I went to Broad Ripple to visit Jennifer and John.

And Laurelai, who wore a Santa hat ...

... for almost 30 seconds.

It was a cold gray day in Indianapolis.

But we had a good time wandering around and looking at the Christmas displays in all the shops.

I was surprised to see ducks on the river. Don't they migrate to warmer places for the winter, like Lake Ella?

As we stood by the river, ducks started swimming toward us. They seemed to be coming from everywhere. Then they swarmed up the bank and chased us down the sidewalk. If you're planning to visit Broad Ripple, bring duck food!

The Start of the Season

On the day after Thanksgiving, I went to Emilie and Derek's annual Pie Party. I got to eat some amazing pie ...

... and I got to see Tom and TammyJo ...

... and I also got to see Dharma's Tootsie Roll costume in person!

And now the Pie Party is over, and you know what that means:

Christmas is here.

Time for some Christmas shopping at the downtown art galleries with Nola, Will, and Mom.

Time to go to the Winter Market and Holiday Craft Fair with Mimi.

There were a lot of people at the craft fair, and Mimi knew most of them.

Including Santa.

Things For Which I Am Thankful, #4

My family.

Sitting around talking to each other.

Gift giving and receiving.

Toasting the holiday.

Playing music.

I'm thankful for everyone who reads this blog! Happy Thanksgiving!

Things For Which I Am Thankful, #3

Vegetables. These are all the wonderful vegetables that I used for Thanksgiving ...

... to stuff these six little pumpkins.

Dad helped me hollow them all out. Then we all chopped vegetables for a long time ...

... until they were ready to be roasted.

After I filled the pumpkins, I still had an enormous amount of vegetables left over.

I will be eating them at every meal from now on! So it's a good thing I love vegetables.

Things For Which I Am Thankful, #2

Butter.

And more butter.

You really can't have too much butter.

Things For Which I Am Thankful, #1

My genius brother arriving in the nick of time to fix my broken camera.

It was seriously, seriously broken. None of the buttons worked. Will had to dissect the entire thing and reassemble it.

Then he fixed Nola's camera.

After Will fixed everything in the house, there was a brief ceremony in his honor.

Me, Me, Me (And Nola!)

Readers, one of you has requested more pictures of me, so here I am:

With wet hair.

With Nola at the Beaujolais Nouveau party.

Going for a walk on the Clear Creek Trail.

Buying vegetables for Thanksgiving.

Taking pictures ...

... and posting them on the blog. I wish I could see you all in person!
Coming soon: more pictures of people who are not me.
